The Counseling Psychology Training, Education, And Mentorship or TEAM lab, led by Dr. Evelyn Hunter, is composed of students along the academic continuum of higher education–from the undergraduate level to terminal degree–representing various disciplines, research interests, and research experience.
In the spirit of the diversity of interests and experiences represented in the lab, the Counseling Psychology TEAM lab examines a number of topics, with the aim of shifting paradigms of understanding toward equity and justice. It is Dr. Hunter’s belief that the lab environment should be a collaborative and structured space that allows students to explore their interests and hone their skills toward becoming exceptional researchers. The TEAM lab investigates the ways in which multicultural and diversity characteristics intersect with and impact “established” mental health and behavioral constructs, including disparities in mental and physical wellness concepts, psychology trainee competencies, leadership, and other constructs broadly defined within multicultural studies.
