"The College of Education has opened doors for me to get into the classroom and just have that hands-on experience and learning how to teach and how to do it well.”

Literacy for every learner

Ever tried writing with your non-dominant hand? How about reading unfamiliar symbols and word patterns or working through a passage filled with distorted text? Or just as tricky, attempting mirror writing, where each letter must be reversed as you go? At Auburn's College of Education, such challenges are more than exercises — they're part of an intentional, hands-on approach to preparing future educators to better understand and support students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.

College of Education students selected as Gogue ambassadors

Three students from Auburn University's College of Education were recently selected to be part of the Gogue Center Ambassadors organization for the 2026-2027 academic year. Lauren Anderson, a senior majoring in music education; Marielle Burque, a junior majoring in exercise performance and health optimization and minoring in dance; and Anna Daniels, a senior majoring in exercise science and minoring in dance, were chosen for the organization, which provides a leadership opportunity for Auburn students dedicated to serving the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center.

Opening Doors to STEM

As the demand for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) talent continues to grow across Alabama and the nation, Auburn University is leading the charge to strengthen science education through innovative programs designed to prepare the next generation of teachers. At the center of this effort is AUTeach, a dynamic, cross-college initiative equipping students with the knowledge, experience and passion to transform science classrooms across the state.
