Short Bio
Yuhyun Park, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling at Auburn University. He earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Arizona, with a minor in Higher Education. His research focuses on counselor education and supervision, substance use disorder treatment, career development, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods in counseling research. His scholarship spans qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches. He is particularly interested in integrating computational methods such as latent class analysis, natural language processing, and other machine learning techniques to better understand diverse counseling and training experiences.
As an educator, Dr. Park teaches career development and vocational appraisal, advanced assessment and diagnosis in counseling, crisis intervention in counseling, introduction to counseling practice,and supervised research experience in counseling. He has taught in both in-person and online formats and brings prior clinical experience from university counseling centers, international student services, and substance use disorder treatment settings. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Park is actively involved in professional service as a reviewer, editorial board member, and committee & taskforce member within national and international counseling and education organizations.
