Short Bio

Dr. Jinhee Park is an Associate Professor and the Program Coordinator of the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Master program. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University. Her research interests include (a) disability biases (implicit and explicit biases toward individuals with disabilities) among service providers and their impact on professional competency and working alliance with individuals with disabilities; (b) multicultural consideration in the rehabilitation counseling field; and (c) vocational rehabilitation and career development for transition-age youth and emerging adults with disabilities. Currently, she has been involved in various research projects as a leading investigator (PI) and a collaborative research partner (Co-PI), which include the psychometric validation of the online Disability Attitude Implicit Association Test (DA-IAT) and explicit disability attitude measures, racial and disability identity development and help-seeking among Asian Americans with disabilities, career development of emerging adults with disabilities, and cyberbullying victimization and its physical and psychosocial impact among college students.

Dr. Park is originally from South Korea and came to the U.S. to pursue her advanced education in rehabilitation counseling. After 11 years in Chicago, IL, and East Lansing, MI, she moved to Auburn to continue her journey as a counselor educator. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Kim, by cooking, watching movies, and traveling.
