Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education
Interested in becoming an instructional leader or administrator in a K-12 setting? Our Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education program prepares engaged, collaborative, and effective administrators by integrating theory, reflection, and applied leadership. This program leads to Alabama Certification (Class A and AA).
Our programs are delivered online using the Canvas Learning Management Platform and our lectures are presented online using Zoom video conferencing software.

If you already have an Alabama Class A certificate in a teaching field and want to be a school principal, this graduate certificate is for you. We prepare instructional administrators and leaders in a K-12 setting. In just 21 credit hours, you will focus on collaboration, student learning, and achievement. Using a cohort format co-taught by experienced leaders and university faculty, you will engage in a sequential, developmental, and comprehensive preparation program. We offer regular opportunities to integrate theory and practice.
Instructional Leadership certificate program admits each semester. For summer admissions, apply by April 1st; for Fall admissions apply by June 1st; for Spring admissions, apply by October 1st.

Effective for candidates unconditionally admitted July 1, 2017 and after, a minimum GPA of 3.25 will be required on all courses used to meet master’s-level certification program requirements.

You must complete an administrative certification application sent from Professional Education Services.
This Educational Specialist degree program is aligned with the requirements for an Alabama Class AA certification in instructional leadership and prepares you to serve as an effective school leader and administrator. Coursework typically takes 3 semesters.
The Ed.S. program begins annually in Spring Semester. For Spring admissions, apply by October 1st.

Want to be an instructional administrator and leader in K-12 settings? Our program prepares engaged, collaborative, and effective leaders through the integration of theory, reflection, and applied leadership opportunities. We consider school leadership to be an intellectual, moral, and craft practice. You will develop your leadership capacity through collaboration, shared decision-making processes, and a focus on student learning and achievement.
Ph.D. programs are not part of the Auburn University approved Educator Preparation Programs. The state of Alabama does not have certification/license at this level and therefore this degree is not eligible for reciprocity in other states.
Doctoral students are admitted annually in the fall semester. Applicants should submit completed application packets for admission before March 1 for fall admission. Applications past the deadline will be considered if space allows or in consultation with program faculty.
Coursework
The Ph.D. program is flexible. You and your advisor work together to determine the best set of courses for you to take.
Please note: If you have graduated with an Auburn Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education Ed.S. degree, then these credits will count toward this Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education or Administration of Supervision and Curriculum Ph.D. degree.
Administration of Supervision and Curriculum
Do you want to lead curriculum changes in preK-12, college or university, or other organizational settings? Our program prepares students to serve in a variety of administrative roles in K-12, colleges, universities, and other organizations. Professional educator certification is not available through this program.

Our degree prepares you for administrative roles in K-12, college/university, and other organizational settings. We focus on curriculum leadership and development. You will also work with educational technology and media.

Are you interested in curriculum leadership positions in K-12, college/university, and other organizational settings? Our doctoral program offers you an opportunity to learn about a wide range of issues related to curricula, instruction, and classroom/learning technology.
Our doctoral program does not lead to Alabama teacher/instructional leadership certification.
