Intro
A degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies prepares students to work in fields that include counseling, allied health fields (Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy), case management, human services, and supported employment. Jobs in the rehabilitation field include disability specialist, mental health technician, case manager, human service worker, and employment specialist/job coach.
You can also use this academic major as a preparation for graduate study in several fields such as rehabilitation, school and mental health counseling, social work, law school, and special education, along with other allied fields listed above.

Our rehabilitation students have been involved with the Alabama Governor’s Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) for the past 15 years. This program serves Alabama’s youth with disabilities and focuses on post high school employment, education, independent living, and advocacy for people with disabilities.
