Overview
Iota Delta Sigma is the Auburn University chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society for students, professional counselors, and counselor educators. CSI recognizes excellence among counselor education students and counseling professionals. The IDS Chapter has demonstrated this level of excellence since its inception in the Spring of 1997 and has been recognized with national awards and several CSI Fellow and Intern awards. The chapter continues to facilitate and involve students in the areas of professional scholarship and service. This has included presentations, volunteer initiatives, professional service and a commitment to excellence as counseling professionals. Mission
To promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
Chapter Goals
Iota Delta Sigma has a strong commitment to community involvement and advocacy through outreach, volunteering, and educational training. The Chapter emphasizes professional development and mentoring through collaborations with Chapter VII of ALCA, Chapter retreats, brown bags, and workshops. The Chapter also focuses on:
