Auburn University Youth Orchestra (AUYO) began as Tiger Strings and has grown over the last three years to include ensembles for beginning string musicians (Concertino Strings) and more advanced players (Youth Orchestra).
AUYO is a partnership outreach initiative through the Auburn University Department of Curriculum and Teaching Music Education program, Auburn University Department of Music, Auburn Arts Association, and the East Alabama Arts Association. It serves string, wind, and percussion musicians from Lee and surrounding counties. Its focus is to provide high quality orchestral playing opportunities, while also expanding string music education in East Alabama.
