Short Bio

Dr. Carney, Humana Germany Sherman Distinguished Professorship has served as Department Head of SERC, Coordinator of the Counselor Education Doctoral program, COUN Lead Faculty/Program Director (2009-2016) for the CED Counseling and Counseling Psychology programs. Dr. Carney’s research has focused on counselor training, assessment and attitudinal development. Highlighted Awards/Service: Fannie R. Cooley Award - Distinguished Professional Development and Leadership, Tom Sweeney Distinguished Professional Leadership Award, Chi Sigma Iota, George E. Hill, Distinguished Professional Service Award Alumni – Ohio University, Jean Cecil, Distinguished Counselor Educator Award.
