Short Bio

Throughout her career, Dr. Debra Lee has served in a variety of educational roles that focus on teaching, coaching and mentoring educators. She has been a classroom teacher, a school district coordinator, a team leader at the Alabama State Department of Education and a K–5 school principal. While earning her Ph.D. at Auburn, she was an instructor in Curriculum and Teaching and EFLT, a graduate assistant at the Truman Pierce Institute and coordinator of the Professional Year Program. Deb went onto become a professor at the University of Montevallo, Georgia State University and Presbyterian College. She currently serves as a Professional Employment Specialist with Greenville County Schools, working to provide on-boarding and guidance to over 500 new teachers every year. Deb is married, has 3 grandchildren (the oldest is a freshman at Auburn) and is mother to 2 Bernese Mountain dogs (300 lbs. of dog).
