Short Bio
Dr. Sarah Flint is a Visiting Assistant Professor within the Counselor Education department with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Dr. Flint has taught many courses in the counselor education curriculum and particularly enjoys teaching the clinical courses where she can include various clinical examples from her practice into her lectures. Her favorite courses to teach are Crisis Counseling, Child and Adolescent Counseling, and Counseling Skills. Dr. Flint's research interests focus around vicarious trauma and resilience in practicing counselors and counselor self-efficacy when working with crisis and trauma.
Professional Experience
Dr. Flint received her B.A. in Psychology from Southwestern University. She received her graduated education from Auburn University, where she earned a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education with a Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation. Dr. Flint has taught in the counselor education department since 2019 as an Adjunct Professor and as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Dr. Flint is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
