Short Bio

Betty S. Patten, Ph.D., is the Jay and Susie Gogue Endowed Director of the EAGLES Program and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling at Auburn University. She also serves as Principal Investigator and Project Director of a federally funded Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSID) grant. Her professional interests include inclusive postsecondary education, evidence-based practices, student well-being, family engagement, program evaluation, and strategies that improve outcomes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Patten is committed to expanding access, strengthening inclusive opportunities, and promoting long-term sustainability within postsecondary education programs. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exercising, and drinking coffee.
