The Auburn University Youth Orchestra (AUYO) program began as Tiger Strings and has grown over the last several years to include ensembles for young string musicians (Concertino Strings) and more advanced string, wind, brass, and percussion students (Youth Orchestra).
The AUYO is a partnership outreach initiative through the Auburn University Department of Curriculum and Teaching Music Education program and the Auburn University Department of Music. It serves string, wind, and percussion musicians from Lee and surrounding counties. Its focus is to provide high quality orchestral playing opportunities, while also expanding string music education in East Alabama.
