Transitioning to college is an exciting time but can also present with academic, social, emotional and administrative challenges – from understanding degree requirements to building confidence in seeking support.
The College of Education Peer Advisor Program is designed to enhance student support, improve retention and engagement, foster leadership development and strengthen the sense of community across our college. Peer Advisors are trained student leaders who serve as accessible mentors and guides for their fellow students, particularly first-year or transfer students. By leveraging peer-to-peer connection, the college provides relatable academic, social and institutional support that complements our professional advising services.

What Does a Peer Advisor Do?
Peer Advisors work to complement, not replace, professional advisors. They serve as mentors and an essential communication bridge between students and academic advisors.
Peer Advisors will:

Assist new students during orientation and transition periods

Provide guidance on course planning, time management and study strategies

Refer students to campus services
