EAGLES is an on-campus and off-campus residential program, providing practical experience in independent living skills.
On Campus
There are 32 residence halls located in five neighborhoods on Auburn University’s campus. Resident assistants or RAs provide support to students living in the dorms on-campus. In addition to RAs, students in the EAGLES program have the support, as needed, of a WINGS peer mentor, or Warmhearted Individual Nurturing Great Success. During the first year of the program, there will be a WINGS peer mentor living on the same floor or in the same dorm for up to three students in the EAGLES program.
Students enrolled in the Basic 2-year program option are required to live in an assigned inclusive residence hall. Students will live in suites that include individual bedrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with an extra-long twin bed, desk and chair, chest of drawers, and an open closet. A bathroom is shared between two residents. The common living/dining room areas include a sofa, a side chair, and a dining room table with two chairs. Also included in the kitchenette is a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and counter and cabinet space. There is a laundry facility and a common complete kitchen available in the residence hall.
Off Campus
Students enrolled in the Advanced 4-year program option are required to live off-campus in either a private residence secured by the student or an approved off-campus apartment secured through AU Housing. The EAGLES program will not facilitate roommate matching for those continuing in the advanced program but will offer supports as students transition from on-campus to off-campus housing.
