Short Bio
Dr. Ivan E. Watts is currently an Associate Professor in Social Foundations in the department of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Technology at Auburn University. From January 2006 through July 2009 he was the Acting Director of Diversity, Recruitment and Retention for the college of education. Dr. Watts’ primary research interests are in the areas of desegregation, youth and school violence, critical social theory and diversity. He believes in the development of a strong theoretical framework in which to offer alternative ways to few social structures and its manifestations. He has published several articles in the areas such as school violence, high stakes testing and faculty diversity. He is an advocate for social justice, equity, and equal access to a quality education for all children
