Short Bio

Dr. Peggy Shippen is a Professor of Special Education with over 30 years of experience in public school classrooms and higher education. Her research interests include services for students in the School to Prison Pipeline and career interests of Incarcerated Adults with disabilities and mental health issues. She has won awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and Excellence in Outreach. She has over 75 publications and has mentored countless students across her esteemed career. She has garnered (with colleagues) in excess of $2 million in external funding. She has a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for all.
