Short Bio
Dr. Shalece Kohnke is a faculty member specializing in special education. Her professional goals are to improve immediate and long-term outcomes for students with disabilities served within inclusive secondary classrooms through research and supporting general and special educators to implement evidence-based practices. Dr. Kohnke’s research primarily focuses on secondary and post-secondary, Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) settings, through the lens of learning sciences.
Professional & Educational Experience
Dr. Kohnke received her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies emphasizing, Special Education from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She received her M.Ed. In Special Education with a concentration in Learning Behavior Disorders from the University of Louisville. Dr. Kohnke received her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Central Florida, specializing in Exceptional Education. Dr. Kohnke was also selected as a 2022 DRK-12 Community for Advancing Discovery Research in Education (CADRE) fellow. Dr. Kohnke became a faculty member at Auburn University in 2023.
