Short Bio
Dr. Heather Delgado is an assistant professor and the doctoral program coordinator in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling and Auburn University. She has a background in clinical mental health counseling and has worked professional as a counselor in non-profit, college, private practice, and school settings. Her research interests include counselor identity development, imposter syndrome, and grief/loss issues in counseling (specifically examining non-death losses and suicide intervention and prevention).
Professional & Educational Experience
Dr. Heather Delgado received her Ph.D in Counseling and Counselor Education and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (NC). She received her BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (NC). Dr. Heather Delgado has worked as a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate (NC) in private practice, non-profit, college, and school settings. In addition, she has been working as an assistant professor in the SERC department for the past 5 years.
