Dr. John Quindry, an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, has been appointed to the editorial board of the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (MSSE) for a one-year term.
The MSSE features clinical study, investigate pieces and comprehensive reviews on current topics in sports medicine and exercise science. The multidisciplinary journal features articles reporting on new educational developments, the role of physical activity in human health and function and the treatment of sport injuries.
The position requires members to review at least five manuscripts per year. Members must also serve as ambassadors for MMSE by encouraging colleagues to submit manuscripts and assisting newcomers in navigating the submission and review process.
Quindry earned his doctorate in biomedical sciences with emphasis in physiology from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. He completed post-doctoral training in exercise biochemistry at the University of Florida and received fellowship awards from the National Institute of Health and American Heart Association. Quindry joined the Department of Kinesiology in January 2009.
