College lays groundwork for Korea University partnership

In
keeping with its efforts to provide students and faculty members with a
broad range of international learning and research opportunities, the
College of Education will welcome a contingent of Korea University
faculty members and students to campus from July 9-21.
Their visit underscores ongoing efforts between the College of Education and its counterparts at Korea University
to
build a lasting exchange partnership that would broaden the
perspectives of students and encourage research collaborations between
faculty members at both institutions.
Korea
University, founded in 1905 and based in Seoul, is home to 35,000
students. Of that total, 2,000 are working toward degrees in the
College of Education's nine departments. Auburn University will welcome
Dr. In-Woo Park, chair of Korea University's Department of Education
and professor of educational technology, and Dr. Sang Min Lee, as well
as seven graduate students -- Eun Sun Jung, Bo Young Choi, Mee Kyung
Lee, Ji Hee Lee, Yang Min Park, Arum Kim and Won Young Kim.
Their
visit will help shape a developing partnership between the Auburn
University and Korea University Colleges of Education. Some of the
topics that will be covered are service learning projects,
semester-long teaching practicum and internship opportunities for
students, visiting professorships and research collaborations.
Their visit is being coordinated by Drs. Suhyun Suh and John Dagley, both of whom are associate professors in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, Counseling/School Psychology.
