Dr. Brian Parr
Dr. Brian Parr, an assistant professor of agricultural education, received Author of the Year honors from two different publications during May 2009 conferences.

The Journal of International Agricultural and Extension Education and the Journal of Agricultural Education each named Parr as their 2008 Author of the Year on the basis of work that appeared in the respective publications.

The Journal of International Agricultural and Extension Education link to external web site honored Parr for an article on agricultural education issues in the former Soviet republic of Georgia that appeared in Volume 15 link to external web site entitled, "Georgian educators' perceptions and outlooks on education, agriculture, and agricultural education.'' The publication recognized Parr during its conference in Puerto Rico on May 27.

Parr's other award resulted from an article entitled, "Does a curriculum integration intervention to improve the mathematics achievement of students diminish their acquisition of technical competence? An experimental study in agricultural mechanics.'' The article appeared in the Journal of Agricultural Education  link to external web site, Volume 49. The publication honored Parr at its conference on May 22 in Louisville, Ky.
