National Advisory Council awards two mini-grants

April 2009

In keeping with its tradition of providing annual support for faculty research and outreach, the College of Education's National Advisory Council awarded a pair of mini-grants in April 2009.

The faculty members who received project funding were:

·         Dr. Angela Love, assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching: $2,000 for "The 'Building Language for Literacy' Curriculum: Improvement of low-income children's language and literacy development.''

·         Drs. Elizabeth Senger and Alyson Whyte, associate professors in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching: $1,937.31 for "Enacting the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL).''

The National Advisory Council Mini-grants, awarded to faculty members since 2001, have been made possible by the personal gifts of council members. As one of the conditions of the mini-grant program, recipients are invited to make in-person presentations to the National Advisory Council on how the funds were used.
