Education's Bannon added to the Alabama Public Television Authority's Advisory Board

The Alabama Public Television (APT) Authority's educational division, known as APTPlus, recently invited College of Education's Susan Bannon to serve on their advisory board. Bannon, Learning Resources Center director and associate professor, was asked to serve to bring a perspective for how APT can help pre-service educators in Alabama.  Bannon was also instrumental in implementing the APTPlus services in the college including United Streaming digital video service.

Other advisory board members include Alabama State Department of Education Technology Initiatives Section and several K-12 teachers; however Bannon is the only higher education professional on the board.

Alabama Public Television, established in 1955, was America's first statewide public television network. Affiliated with the Public Broadcasting System (PBS), it is a seven-day-a-week educational resource for Alabamians of all ages through online services, analog and digital television programming, documentary production and outreach activities.

College of Education's Learning Resources Center assists students, faculty and staff with effective use of technology in the learning and teaching process.  Graphic design, technology assistance, word processing and video/audio/multimedia production are among the LRC's many services.
