Visiting Assistant Professor

Counselor Education

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include instructional activities in the Master's level courses in Counselor Education. These courses serve students in Community Counseling, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling/School Psychology. Additional responsibilities include: advisement of Master's level students in Counselor Education, Practicum and Internship Coordination and Placement, and curriculum activities related to CACREP accreditation and re-accreditation  planning and implementation (re-accreditation is currently scheduled for 2010).
 
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program with a program emphasis in Community Counseling or School Counseling. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
 
Desired Qualifications:
A Ph.D. from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program and supervisory experience or training with Master's level counselors and teaching experience in community or school counseling foundation courses. In addition, counseling experience within the specialty setting (e.g., Community Mental Health).

Position appointment begins August 16, 2009.
 
Deadline: Review of applications will begin on July 10, 2009.  This is a nine month non-tenure track position for a period of one academic year.
