Basic Skills Information

The Basic Skills Assessments are required in all initial teacher preparation programs and consist of three parts: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Writing.  Undergraduate students must pass all three parts as a prerequisite for admission to Teacher Education. Graduate students in alternative master's certification programs must pass all three parts prior to internship. Click here to register online.

Additional Score Report Requests

Additional score reports can be ordered after the examination. Your request should include your name, address, Social Security/ID number, date of birth, test date, phone number, signature, and college or university you wish to receive a copy of your scores. Prices for additional score reports are as follows:

  • Score report shipped via standard mail: $15 plus applicable Alabama sales tax
  • Score report shipped via Express Mail: $25 plus applicable Alabama sales tax
  • Cashier’s check or money order should be made payable to ACT AECTP.
