Sisters of the Academy
The Auburn University College of Education is proud to be the host institution
for the national organization Sisters of the Academy (SOTA) — a support network of African-American women in higher education. Auburn
University provided the organization with seed money to run the day-to-day activities
and also gives the organization an infrastructure from which to operate. Kimberly
King, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership
and Technology, is the president of SOTA.
SOTA'S Goal
To create an educational network of black women in higher education that will
foster continuous scholarship and academic achievements.
