Twenty-first Century Community Center (CCLC) Summer Camps

TPI will conduct one summer camp and act as lead agency, identifying four other institutions of higher learning to host four additional camps throughout the state (TBA). Goals, schedules, activities, evaluation, follow-up, and reports for all five of these camps are coordinated by the TPI staff. These week-long residential summer camps, which are provided free or at nominal cost, are for rising high school students. The camps prepare young people to serve as tutors in local 21st CCLC programs. In addition to leaning how to improve the academic skills of afterschool and summer program participants, campers tend to improve their own academic skills while becoming familiar with life on a college campus. The camp content emphasizes techniques for improving math, art, science and writing skills and includes numerous natural science topics and hands-on experiences in addition to opportunities to learn about the campus environment. Auburn University's summer camp will be held the week of June 7-12th. For more information about the camp, see the Auburn University Outreach Office homepage and click on Summer Camps.
