National Advisory Council Mini-grants

About the Mini-Grants

As part of their support of our college, National Advisory Council members personally fund research and outreach efforts by our faculty.  The objective of this program is to encourage and facilitate college faculty in creating or enhancing meaningful research and outreach.

With 100 percent participation in committing to financially supporting a group project, the National Advisory Council established the Mini-Grants for Partnerships in 2000 and award its first grant in 2001.

Funding Amounts and Selection Process

Funding for the mini-grants program has been provided by members of the National Advisory Council.  Grants typically range to a maximum of $2,000; however, specific amounts depend on the funding interests and quantity of applications received.  Proposals are reviewed by a members of the council's Academic Affairs Committee, after which the committee makes a proposal to the full council for action at its fall meeting.

Project Reporting

Faculty mini-grant recipients will be asked to provide a report in the spring, which may include an in-person presentation, on the use of the mini-grant funds.

Application and Deadlines

All College of Education faculty members are invited and encouraged to submit proposals.  Proposal guidelines are provided during the submission period, which is traditionally around the start of each fall semester.
