National Advisory Council Standing Committees
Executive Committee
The council chair and committee members serve with the dean as members of the Executive Committee
- review council operating guidelines and committee responsibilities annually
- assign committee members to each of the NAC committees
- consult with dean when considering new council members
- orient new members
- develop meeting agenda and meet between council meetings when necessary
Academic Affairs Committee
- create activities to connect faculty with alumni and friends
- identify guest lecturers
- coordinate mini-grant selection process
- assist with academic projects within the college
Development Committee
- identify and evalute prospects
- assist in solicitations and stewardship
- host donor events and receptions
- assist with the creation and review of the development strategic work plan
- assist in identifying long-term funding priorities (i.e., scholarships, facilities)
External Relations Committee
- provide and solicit feedback on events held within the college
- cultivate alumni involvement through communications and events
- improve relations with parents and friends
- cultivate involvement in intern and mentoring programs
- solicit/provide ideas/feedback for college publications and web site
- develop regional alumni events
- provide suggestions/feedback regarding college communications (i.e., publications, Web site)
Internal Relations Committee
- strengthen the relationship between the NAC and COE personnel
- identify opportunities for advisory council members to better integrate in college efforts
- identify projects and opportunities for advisory council members to participate in through college/department committees
