National Advisory Council Standing Committees

Executive Committee

The council chair and committee members serve with the dean as members of the Executive Committee
  • review council operating guidelines and committee responsibilities annually
  • assign committee members to each of the NAC committees
  • consult with dean when considering new council members
  • orient new members
  • develop meeting agenda and meet between council meetings when necessary

Academic Affairs Committee

  • create activities to connect faculty with alumni and friends
  • identify guest lecturers
  • coordinate mini-grant selection process
  • assist with academic projects within the college

Development Committee

  • identify and evalute prospects
  • assist in solicitations and stewardship
  • host donor events and receptions
  • assist with the creation and review of the development strategic work plan
  • assist in identifying long-term funding priorities (i.e., scholarships, facilities)

External Relations Committee

  • provide and solicit feedback on events held within the college
  • cultivate alumni involvement through communications and events
  • improve relations with parents and friends
  • cultivate involvement in intern and mentoring programs
  • solicit/provide ideas/feedback for college publications and web site
  • develop regional alumni events
  • provide suggestions/feedback regarding college communications (i.e., publications, Web site)

Internal Relations Committee

  • strengthen the relationship between the NAC and COE personnel
  • identify opportunities for advisory council members to better integrate in college efforts
  • identify projects and opportunities for advisory council members to participate in through college/department committees
