What are the benefits of an alum staying connected to the College of Education?

In addition to building a life-long affiliation with the college, alumni benefit from staying connected to the college by receiving special alumni mailings and invitations to special events, networking with other alumni, forming new friendships and participating in the future of your College of Education. Alumni that actively participate in alumni programs such as attending special events and reading alumni publications and visiting this Web site become the first to know about new projects and programs in the college.

How many alumni does the College of Education have?

As of October 2006, the college had 35,641alumni.

Where do the college's alumni live?

The college has alumni in all 50 states in addition to Washington, D.C. and U.S. territories such as the Marshall Island and Guam. As you would expect, the highest percentage of alumni live in the state of Alabama with 55% of the total alumni base.

How can I become more involved with the college?

Alumni can become involved with the college on many different levels. Just by keeping informed about the college and its faculty, staff and students through this Web site, alumni can become ambassadors of the college to fellow Auburn alumni, colleagues and community members.

By attending special events hosted by the college, alumni have an opportunity to interact with the dean and other college faculty and staff. They also have the chance to ask questions or to provide input about current issues in education and the university.

One of the most important ways alumni can participate in the present and future of the college is to make financial contributions to the college through the annual phone-a-thon or in a greater way through establishing a scholarship endowment or through a bequest.

Perhaps the most hands-on participation with the college is through membership on the National Advisory Council or as a guest lecturer in one or more education classes.

If you would like to participate in any of the activities mentioned above, please contact Michael Tullier at (334) 844-1324 or tullimj@auburn.edu.

Are there any college programs for young alumni?

There are two programs sponsored by the college for its new/young alumni. The Keystone Connection is a mentoring program connecting young alumni with more experienced alumni. The "Give Your Year Challenge" is a philanthropy program designed to encourage young alumni to participate in financially supporting the college and its current students.
