Welcome

Dr. Browning, RSED Department Head

The mission of our department is to positively affect the quality of life for infants, toddlers, children, youth, and adults with disabilities. And, it is toward that end that we direct programs of instruction, research, and outreach.

Our programs are recognized for their high quality. In preparation for Auburn University's 21st Century Plan, for example, our department was ranked 23rd in quality and production among AU's 68 departments. As well, our rehabilitation graduate program was ranked by US News & World Report as 14th among public institutions.

Since 1990, over 1,300 of our graduates have assumed prominent careers in early childhood special education, special education, and rehabilitation. We are indeed proud of our current programs and excited about our future directions. We welcome you to join us in our journey of helping to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
