NEWS
 
Assistant Professor (Exercise Physiology)
Dr John Quindry will be joining the department in the Spring semester of 2009. Dr Quidry comes to Auburn via Appalachian State University where he is an assistant professor in the Department of Heallth, Leisure & Exercise Science.
 
College of Education Awards
Congratulations to the faculty and students from the Department of Kinesiology who received awards for their outstanding accomplishments this year.
  • Department of Kinesiology to senior exercise science major Jenna Valaer and exercise science doctoral student Casey Breslin
  • Dr. Peter Hastie received the college's Outstanding Faculty award for Research.  Hastie, a professor in the Department of Kinesiology, serves as the program area coordinator and graduate program officer for the Physical Education-Teacher Education program.
  • Dr. Leah Robinson received the college's Outstanding Faculty Early Career Award for excellence, research and outreach during her first year as an AU faculty member.  Robinson is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology.
New Building
In the near future, the Department of Kinesiology will be moving home. The Department of Kinesiology Building will be attached to the new Campus Recreation Complex. This is a particular exciting venture, as the new recreation complex will be a state of the art facility designed to maximize participation in physical activity across the entire campus.
 
Meeting Hosts
AU Department of Kinesiology will be hosting the 2008 MDRC meeting at St. George Island, FLA. Meeting dates are October 30th - November 1st, 2008. For details, click here
