Information about PE Classes

The Physical Actvity and Wellness Program is a 8 semester hour committment and is available to all students across campus. Particularly attractive to those students who enjoy physical activity, the program combines study of the basic principles of wellness with participation in a broad range of physical activity categories. The specific course of study is shown below.
  • PHED 1100: Wellness (2)
  • 6 hours from 3 other PHED courses
  • Optional courses must be from 3 different categories (e.g. fitness, team sports, aquatics)

While completion of this program does not get on transcripts or diplomas, studetns can request a certificate upon completion if they wish.

Students are reminded that spaces in these courses are limited, and they will quickly.
  • Students may add themselves to PHED courses with openings until the first day of class.
  • After the first day students may be added on a first-come, first-served basis to PHED courses with openings during the first week of classes, only!
  • If AU courses start on a Tues, the last day to be added to a PHED is the following Tues, no matter when the PHED class in question began.
  • Students should see Robin Martin in Rm 2049 Memorial Coliseum to be added.
  • No student should seek permission from a PHED instructor to be added since PHED instructors do not have the authority to add students to their PHED class(es).
