Dr. Jane B. Moore

Dr. Jane B. Moore served as a faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance for 22 years, specializing in motor development. Through hard work and commitment to her profession, Jane Moore influenced the lives of many Alabamians, young and old. She was well respected as a mentor and educator by her students and colleagues. Her dedication to education and the health and well-being of all people is one of many positive attributes Jane Moore possessed while serving at Auburn University. Jane was the first woman to serve on the Auburn University Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics. In 2003, Jane became the first woman at Auburn University to have an athletic building named solely for her. The field of the Auburn Softball Complex was renamed Jane B. Moore Field to honor Moore's long-time service to Auburn University athletics. Moore received many awards throughout her tenure. At the time of her retirement, she was honored with the distinction of emeritus status and was also awarded the distinguished Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. |
Sandra Newkirk

Sandra Bridges Newkirk served as a faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance for 40 years. Early in her career, Sandra was instrumental in building the women's athletic program at
Auburn
University
. Sandra contributed to the mission of the department in a variety of ways. She provided all undergraduate advising for the department for many years and served thousands of students to the best of her ability. She taught classes in our department with commitment and care. In 2005, Sandra received the Aldermon Sydney Sullivan Award, a testament to Sandra's dedication to
Auburn
University
and her community. Upon retirement, the university recognized her service by awarding Sandra Newkirk emeritus status. |
Hub Waldrop

Herb "HUB" Waldrop was a tenured faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance for 43 years before he retired June 2005. Over these years, he has had a joint position with HLHP and Athletics. Hub taught classes, coached sports, served as the head Athletic Trainer, and much more. Hub was a "Team" player and served
Auburn
University
to the best of his ability and with dedication and pride. Upon retirement, the university recognized Hub's service by awarding him emeritus status. We want to thank you for all that he contributed and continues to contribute to our department, college and university. |
