Plan of Study

Creating an On-Line Plan of Study

To prepare your plan of study:
  • Review your program course planning worksheet.
  • Meet with your advisor to review required and proposed transfer courses for your new program of study.
  • Access the on-line system, called GSPOST, which is available through the Graduate school webpage.  Complete, print a copy, get signatures, and submit the Plan of Study to the Graduate School.
Doctoral Students: A Residency Form is also required - print a copy, get signatures, file along with your Plan of Study.  Here is the Graduate School form link: http://www.grad.auburn.edu/forms/residency.pdf

To access the GSPOST (Graduate School Plan of Study) system:

 1. Go to the Graduate School website -  www.grad.auburn.edu

2. Please select "STUDENTS" i(n the orange header) and then select "Plan of Study" (located in the links on left side of page).

3.  You will need your userid (e.g., "wittemm" if using Windows 2000 or earlier or "auburn\wittemm" if using Windows XP) and password to begin the plan of study.

4.  Fill in the "Degree Information", " Auburn Courses", and "Transfer Courses".   DO NOT use "Foundations Courses" since courses entered here do not count in the program and are used for remediation only (this is the Grad School 's definition). The Foundations courses that you take will need to placed under the "Auburn Courses" heading.

5.  Use the "Printable Version" link to print a copy and discuss with your advisor.  The advisor can also access this plan and make changes, as appropriate.  For example, if you are unable to delete a course (e.g., course was substituted with a transfer course), the advisor will be able to do so.  IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PRINT, check the pop-up blocker feature on your computer.

6.  It is final when all signatures are obtained and the Plan of Study is sent to the Graduate School for approval.  You will be notified via email once it is approved.

7.  If there are revisions to a previously submitted electronic plan of study, use the Revision Form (for paper copies) available through the pull down "Forms" menu on the Graduate School webpage OR access the GSPOST system, select the "Approved" plans of study, select the appropriate student's plan of study, select "Revision Form" and pen & ink the changes.  The form requires only the advisor and department head's signatures.

NOTE:  If your plan of study was filed BEFORE this online system was initiated (August 2003), it will not be in an electronic format (e.g., you will not find it in the GSPOST system), and this is OK.  Therefore, if there are any changes to a plan of study, please use the "Revision to Existing Plan of Study Form" located under the "Forms" heading on the Graduate School webpage - www.grad.auburn.edu

Again, if students already have an existing plan of study, they are not required to create a new one using the GSPOST online plan of study UNLESS they have had more than 3 changes to their current plan of study and a new plan has to be created.
EFLT students--please check with your advisor on any changes, revisions, or actions that need to be accomplished.

If there are any questions or difficulties, please contact your advisor, Program Coordinator, or the EFLT Graduate Program Officer - efltadm@auburn.edu.
