Praxis II
The Alabama State Department of Education requires a passing score of 600 on the Praxis II library media exam (# 0310) as a pre-condition for library media certification.
Students seeking the master of education degree in library media and initial A-level certification in library media with this degree are required to pass the Praxis II library media exam as a pre-condition for library media certification and also as a requirement for graduation.
Students seeking the add-on A-level library media certification are required to make a passing score on the Praxis II library media exam as a pre-condition for recommendation for library media certification.
All library media graduate students should register to take the Praxis II exam at least the semester or term before graduation or completion of course work for certification, whichever is applicable. When registering to take the Praxis II exam, the score reports should be sent to both of the following: Alabama State Department of Education (#7020) and Auburn University (#1005). After one takes the exam, it takes about four weeks for the score to be reported.
More information about the Praxis II exam and scheduled dates for the exam can be found within the Students section of the College of Education Web site. Visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Web site to register online to take the exam.
The Learning Resources Center (LRC) has an ETS study guide for school leaders and services areas (school librarians are in the school services area of this book). The call number for this item is REF 371.2 PRA.
