| Adult & HIgher Education Mission and Philosophy The Adult and Higher Education Team consists of highly capable, competent, and distinguished faculty that assist others in translating theory into practical applications. The team provides professional development opportunities to individuals engaged in instruction, research, outreach, supervision and adult-centered learning. The respective programs are designed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing society and are committed to purposeful synergistic and systemic instruction and learning.
We are planning a special certificate in College and University Teaching to prepare new doctoral faculty for teaching in higher education. Cutting edge research includes focusing on the needs of returning veterans transitioning from combat to campus as well as serving as the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators' liaison for an American Council on Education initiative. The Higher Education program is concurrently delivering a graduate minor course of study in Sports Management to prepare students to work in a more specialized area of higher education with plans for expansion to a full program.
