Statement of Purpose
The Doctor of Philosophy in Career and Technical Education is designed to provide individuals an opportunity to pursue their long-range goals and objectives by preparing for careers in teaching, administration, extension service, and training and development positions in public and private education, business, industry, and governmental agencies. This program builds upon the competencies and foundations of previous experiences and course work.
The purpose of the Doctor of Philosophy in Career and Technical Education is to further develop competencies, skills, and abilities of individuals to assume leadership roles, or manage programs, and/or teach in a variety of settings. With the approval of the student's advisory committee, additional specific courses may be pursued in other departments, schools, or colleges throughout the University depending on the concentration needed to meet students' goals and objectives.
