The purpose of Phi Beta Lambda is to provide opportunities for postsecondary students to develop business-related career competencies. PBL is an integral part of the instructional program and promotes a sense of civic and personal responsibility.

Because industry certification for Business/Marketing educators is recommended at the national and state levels, students in the Business/Marketing Education program are required to take various industry certification exams as a means of validating skills. Currently, students graduating hold Microsoft Office Specialist Certification and IC3 Certification.

The purpose of the distance education graduate program in Business/Marketing Education is to provide opportunities for initial teacher certification and professional development for in-service teachers. The degree programs offer educational opportunities through convenient access, especially for areas that are particularly lacking in availability of educational resources. The program assists in providing professional development to business/marketing educators in the area of continuously changing technology.
