M.Ed. Traditional Master's English for Speakers of Other Languages Education
 
Statement of Purpose
 
The purpose of the English for Speakers of Other Languages master's degree program is to strengthen professional educator's abilities and competencies for teaching in K-12 settings.  The program is designed for students to attain their master's level (Class A) teacher certification. Graduates complete coursework that will prepare them to implement skills in the areas of curriculum development and teaching methods, evaluation of teaching and learning, and identification and utilization of technological resources.  Graduates are also required to complete an internship which provides practical application related to English for Speakers of Other Languages Education.

At this time, it is not possible for students to complete all course requirements for the master's degree through distance learning.
 
Although the master's degree is not offered entirely through distance learning, there are a growing number of ESOL courses that are offered in the distance education format.
