| Dr. Jonghee Shim Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education
Department of Curriculum and Teaching Auburn University, AL 36849 (334) 844-6791 FAX (334) 844-6789 Jonghee Shim joined the Department of Curriculum and Teaching as an assistant professor in early childhood education in August 2008. Shim earned a bachelor's degree in child development from Seoul Women's University in South Korea, a master's degree in elementary and early childhood education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a doctorate in human development and family studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Before coming to Auburn University, Shim worked as a postdoctoral research associate and project coordinator for a community-based research project in the Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her teaching experience includes teaching preschool children, undergraduate students in early childhood education and human development, and early childhood professionals seeking the Child Development Associate credential. Her research interests include child care quality, child development in multiple contexts, teacher turnover and the professional development of early childhood teachers. Academic Degrees
