Before coming to Auburn University, Love was a tenured professor at Queens College, City University of New York, and served as its liaison to the Lincoln Center Institute. Love earned her doctorate in educational psychology at Georgia State University. She taught pre-kindergarten through first grade in New Orleans while completing her master's degree in early childhood education at Tulane University. Love earned her bachelor's degree in theatre at Eckerd College (Fla.). Her research interests include early literacy engagement and interaction between adults and children, early self-regulated learning, inquiry learning through content areas and the arts, and teachers' beliefs that guide their decisions in curriculum. In addition to being published in such periodicals as the Journal of Educational Research and the Journal of Genetic Psychology, she co-authored a chapter in a book published by Lawrence Elbaum Associates on authentic educational reform.Academic Degrees
