She joined the Curriculum and Teaching Department August 15, 2006. Dr. Bailey came to Auburn University from the University of Louisville, where she was the Program Director for Early Childhood Education and tenured Associate Professor. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), an international honor society. Dr. Bailey is an accomplished researcher who has secured nearly $1,000,000 is grant dollars to fund her research and has written a plethora of scholarly research articles to disseminate her research findings. Among Dr. Bailey's research interests are teaching and learning in early childhood mathematics, interactive homework, using technology to advance teachers' content and pedagogical knowledge in early childhood mathematics and parental involvement for children at risk of failing in school settings. Dr. Bailey is a former AU Holmes Scholar and currently serves as the advisor of the Auburn University Holmes Scholar Program.
