Program Description

The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Counseling is a 30 semester credit program of study approved by the State Department of Education (SDE) for persons who hold Master's level certification in school counseling.  Graduates typically are employed in schools.  Requirements include practicum, internship and a field project related to school counseling.  Students complete practica and internships in settings related to their career goals.  Program requirements include a written examination.

An applicant must submit an application supplement directly to the Department of Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, and School Psychology.  PLEASE NOTE: Application Supplements are tailored to the specific degree programs.  Therefore, make sure you are submitting the application that coordinates with the program to which you are applying.
    Arrow  Application deadline: March 1st
    Arrow  Admissions are considered during the Spring semester.
    Arrow  Entry into the degree program begins Fall semester
    Arrow  New students are not admitted for Spring or Summer semesters.
