Program Description

The doctoral program in counseling psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Successful completion of the approved curriculum results in a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in Counseling Psychology. The curriculum is built on a framework referred to as a "Scientist-Practitioner" model, wherein emphasis is placed on the integration of both the science and the practice of counseling psychology. The curriculum includes a sequence of supervised clinical practicum experiences in a variety of settings, and a full-time, one-year pre-doctoral internship.
