SCHOOL COUNSELING ADMISSIONS RE-OPENS FOR FALL, 2008
The School Counseling program is now accepting applications for the master's level programs in school counseling. In addition to Track A, the program that leads to school counselor certification in Alabama, we have reopened admission to School Counseling: Track B. Track B is for persons who do not have a professional educator certificate. Track B is accredited by CACREP, but is not approved by the Alabama State Board of Education as a certification program because admission requirements do not include a professional educator certificate. Individuals successfully completing this track are not eligible to apply for Class A School Counseling certification in Alabama. Individuals seeking certification in states other than Alabama are responsible for contacting those state certification offices regarding school counseling certification requirements.
