Ways to Give

Outright Gifts           Planned (Deferred) Gifts

College of Education alumni and friends, as well as supporters from the corporate world and charitable foundations, provide the private support our College's people and programs need to maintain a nationally renowned commitment to excellence.

While current tax code encourages the tangible benefits of charitable giving, the intangible rewards can be greater. Through involvement with faculty, students and fellow contributors, the donor can explore and enjoy the value of his or her investment in the College of Education.

Outright gifts provide valuable support for current programs; planned or deferred gifts provide substantial support for future use. The extent of benefits to the donor depends upon the manner and mechanisms by which the gift is made. This web page is intended to introduce donors to the various methods by which they may support higher education and simultaneously retain tax benefits.

The professional staff of the College of Education Development Office assists donors in finding giving strategies that will fulfill their personal, family and business goals and answer their long-term charitable goals. The Development staff is dedicated to finding the most efficient, personally satisfying and financially advantageous method for each donor to make his or her contribution. They are happy to work with you and your financial and legal advisors without cost or obligation.

The Auburn University Foundation, by Board of Trustees mandate, is the designated recipient of gifts for Auburn University's campuses in Auburn and Montgomeryincluding the College of Education. The Foundation is certified as a "qualified charitable organization" and meets the standards and requirements of the Internal Revenue Service within the meaning of IRS code Section 501(c)(3). Under this code, all contributions are deductible for federal income tax purposes (subject to statutory limitations) and for federal estate and gift tax purposes. The Foundation's federal identification number for tax purposes is 63-6022422.

Although these are mechanisms used to give, these types of gifts may be used to fund various opportunities for support.
