Transition Points

Alabama Prospective Teacher Testing Programs (APTTP)

  • Basic Skills Assessments offers information related to the first component of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Testing Program (APTTP).
  • Praxis II provides information related to the second component of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Testing Program (APTTP).
Fingerprints

The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) requires that all undergraduate students in a teacher certification program have their fingerprints cleared through the ABI/FBI. Fingerprinting and a clear background check are required for admission to teacher education.

The ALSDE uses Cogent Systems as the vendor for the outsourcing of fingerprinting services.  All individuals enrolled in a teacher certification program are to use this system to meet the fingerprinting/background check requirement.

Information, including online registration and fingerprinting procedures, is available on the Cogent Systems website. The physical fingerprinting site for Auburn, Alabama is Pak Mail, 300 North Dean Road (Kroger Shopping Center).
