Building Individual Capacity for Success (BICS) is one of the newest initiatives of the Truman Pierce Institute. Funded by the AT&T Foundation's ASPIRE program, BICS provides services to enhance student engagement and successful high school completion while focusing on the strengths and interests of the students involved.
  

The federally funded 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program provides a range of high-quality services to students and their families before and after regular school hours including school breaks and summer vacation. 

Auburn City Schools/Auburn University Leadership Capacity Building Program

The Auburn City Schools/Auburn University Leadership Academy provides relevant job-embedded professional development to develop the leadership capacity of current and potential educational leaders within the system.

Kettering Research-Connections

The Kettering Research Connections project is exploring the historical links between communities and their educational systems in an effort to reconnect the public with public schools.

Black Belt Superintendents Coalition

The Black Belt Superintendents Coalition is designed to support research efforts, professional development, organizational and leadership development, and other efforts focused on assisting school superintendents within the Black Belt region to maximize resources and improve student learning.

Leadership for Effective Academic Reform Now (LEARN)

Leadership for Effective Academic Reform, Now (LEARN) addresses the need for on-going and sustainable professional development for school administrators and teacher leaders through developing or supporting leadership academies in 10 Alabama rural school systems. 

Leadership in Action Network (LAN)

The Leadership in Action Network (LAN) is creating a sustainable leadership capacity building and research network among 9 school districts in rural Alabama.  This initiative, funded by the Jesse Ball DuPont Fund, improves instructional leadership through professional development and action research, increasing student leadership capacity, and investigating the effectiveness of these networks in solving issues common to the districts.
